About St. Elisabeth’s Home
A Place of Hope. A Family of Love. A Future of Possibility.
Nestled in the serene Aburi mountains of the Eastern Region of Ghana, St. Elisabeth’s Home is a registered and licensed not-for-profit organisation dedicated to caring for vulnerable children. Established on 1st May 2006, the home was created to be a safe haven—offering love, protection, and opportunity to children who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.
For nearly two decades, our mission has remained the same:
to care for the needy, provide shelter for the homeless, and foster children—regardless of colour, creed, background, or tribe.
Our Children
We currently care for 50 children, ranging from 2-year-old twin boys to young adults pursuing higher education and employment.
16 children are above 18 years old, and among them:

The others are currently enrolled in various universities and SHSs
Our Staff
St. Elisabeth’s Home is run by a compassionate team of 9 staff:

Four of our mothers have reached or exceeded retirement age, yet continue to lovingly serve.
Education
Every child in our care is enrolled in school.Highlights include:
- 21 children attend St. Adelaide International School, located on our premises
- 5 students are enrolled in universities across Ghana
- University of Ghana
- UPSA
- Takoradi Technical University
We also support children with special needs:
- Afua, who is hearing impaired, attends Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf and is studying Clothing & Textiles
- Prudence, age 17, has delayed growth. Following professional guidance, she is now developing skills in batik-making at her own pace
Education remains one of our greatest tools for transforming futures.
Feeding the Home
Feeding nearly 60 people daily is a monumental task, but by God’s grace we have never gone to bed hungry.
A generous donor provides monthly food supplies, helping to reduce our expenses significantly.
Maintenance
Every month brings a new repair—plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, or general upkeep.
The repairs never end, and neither do the bills, yet God continues to sustain the home through the kindness of partners and donors.
